george clinton on kiss 100 in 1993

This was 'P-Funk Hour' with a twist. I had the pleasure of Dr Funkenstein himself, George Clinton, live in the Kiss studio on air totally doing his thing. It was a huge laugh with plenty of innuendo and double entendre.

We took live calls from London funkateers and generally threw any radio rule book out of the window onto the Holloway Road. This was in 1993 in the year that his namesake Bill Clinton became president, which we spoke about.

Great to hear all those early Kiss 100 promos and ads again. Enjoy!

chico debarge interview and live session on kiss 100 february 1998

Back in February 1998 Chico Debarge played an amazing show at London's Jazz Cafe. I got him into Kiss 100 twice on the same day to talk about life and his then new CD 'Long Time No See' which he released after doing time in the US.

We spoke on my regular afternoon show and he returned later, when I was on again in the evening, to sing 'Ms Wonderful' and 'Love Still Good' from the album live whilst playing the Clavinet keyboard we put in for him in the Kiss studio. Great memories, lovely session. Enjoy!

South Coca M.C Preach Jacobs and his North London producer compadre El Denz joined me on Choice FM on December 6 2009 to chat about hip hop and their new collab 'Maple Street Sessions' for London label R2 Records. Preach is a really cool and entertaining guy with a great perspective and these guys were great value. Shout out to Denz of course who is definitely one of the best beat producers in the game. This is legacy true hip hop.

Erro was in London in October to promote his new album ‘Music Fan First’ and perform at sold out nights at London’s Jazz Cafe.

He co-hosted the show and performed four live acoustic songs along with guitarist Curt Chambers. Three of these acoustic songs are titles from the new album and have now been released on iTunes as ‘Choice FM Sessions’ but he also did a fantastic version of Michael Jackson’s ‘Rock With You’ which is included in the session below. Maxwell came to London early November 2009 for some promo and a couple of sold out dates on his world tour. I met him when he released his debut album in 1996 and was keen to catch up. We spoke about his new album BLACKsummersnight and other things.
